Fund Raising
Lancea balances its focus between established funds seeking to diversify and access new investors; "next generation" manager funds and "emerging market" funds. It has experience with a wide range of investment strategies, including fund-of-funds, venture, private equity and mezzanine as well as sector focussed, "special situations" and other types of niche funds.

"Next generation" managers typically range from first time funds through to third and even, in certain cases, fourth time funds. "Emerging market" funds operate exclusively outside the US and Western Europe and are typically independent of the "global" private equity sponsor groups.  For both types of manager, a qualified private equity adviser with a real understanding of the market dynamics confronting such funds can bring substantial added value in assisting these groups to engage constructively with the institutional and family office investment community. Close relationships, particularly with family offices and high net worths, are important as they are more natural supporters of "emerging" managers, being less constrained by internal mandate or policy issues and usually quicker to make decisions.

Lancea's presence at the more challenging "emerging" end of the marketplace means that funds assisted generally have been less than £500m in size, located in the UK, Continental and Emerging Europe, US and, increasingly, Asia, Latin America and Africa.

Secondary Transactions
Lancea covers all types of investors, partnership interests, fund assets and investment strategies, ranging from buyout through to early stage venture funds.  The key aim is to enable vendors and purchasers satisfy their respective objectives through the development of creative solutions.

Institutional Advisory
Lancea focuses on family offices and smaller institutions who might be making their first allocations to private equity and who need advice on approach, structure, selection and due diligence requirements.
