Pascal Isbell spent the first eighteen years of his career developing and managing institutional equity advisory services for Salomon Brothers, Nomura International and Credit Lyonnais Securities Europe, before creating a private equity advisory business within Credit Lyonnais UK in 2000 to advise early stage technology/cleantech companies on their strategic development and funding strategies. Since 2003 Pascal has been acting as a private equity consultant to a number of corporate entities, and advising innovative specialist hedge funds on capital raising. Pascal has significant knowledge of the institutional investor base of both public and private markets in the UK and Continental Europe, and has substantial corporate finance experience advising early and later stage technology/cleantech companies on strategic and financing matters. Pascal has an MBA from The Wharton School.

Harry Goodchild has had over 20 years experience of advising companies and fund raising in the UK, Europe and Asia, initially as a lawyer with Linklaters & Paines and then as a banker with Banque Paribas and Credit Lyonnais, and has been based in London, Paris and Hong Kong. During his career, he has started and managed a number of wide ranging initiatives, including a pan European corporate finance business, an equity capital markets business in the emerging markets of Asia and Europe, and a private equity advisory business within Credit Lyonnais UK which advised early stage technology/cleantech companies on their strategic development and funding strategies. Between 1996 and 2003, Harry focused on small cap IPOs and raising of equity capital for private companies, principally in the UK and in the TMT sector. Harry is a graduate of Bristol University.

Andrew Gardner has over 20 years experience advising companies and funds, initially as a lawyer with Linklaters & Paines, then as an investment banker at Cazenove & Co and Cazenove Inc., and thereafter at Credit Suisse First Boston. His experience has covered a wide range of capital raisings and corporate transactions, including IPOs, public and private equity placements, debt offerings and M&A, both in Europe and in the US. Since 1998 he has focussed primarily on fund raisings, first at CSFB where he focused on listed closed end fund vehicles before migrating to the private equity sector in 2000. Immediately prior to the founding of Lancea, Andrew managed his own private equity advisory and placement business undertaking both primary fundraisings and secondary fund transactions for established and emerging European, US and Asian private equity fund management groups. He also retains an advisory interest in the closed end fund market, thus providing a dual public and private markets perspective for private equity fund vehicles. A qualified solicitor, Andrew has an MA from Cambridge University and is a Sloan Fellow from the London Business School.

He has had extensive international experience, particularly in offshore financial centres, the USA and Southern Africa. David is a former senior partner of Deloitte & Touche who left the firm in 1993 to pursue and develop a wider portfolio of interests. He is currently chairman of three of AON's UK pension schemes; a non-executive director of Sigma Q C Ltd; a non-executive director of Hirco PLC; chairman of Globaltech Solutions Ltd; and a non-executive director of Central & Overseas Securities Limited, part of Tongaat-Hulett Ltd, a South African and UK listed company.

Bill Semmes has extensive international long only, hedge and private equity fund marketing experience. He graduated from Columbia University and joined American Express in 1970 holding marketing and sales positions including three years as head of Sales & Marketing in Europe, Middle East & Africa, based in London. From 1981-6 he was head of Marketing & Sales for Chemical Bank's Trust & Investment Division and President of MasterCard International's Travelers Cheque Division. In 1986 he was recruited back to American Express as SVP, head of Sales and Marketing for mutual funds and separate accounts. In 1995 he joined Chase Vista Funds to establish their offshore fund programme with retail funds domiciled in Luxembourg and institutional in Dublin and raised $2 billion in assets in two years. In 2000 he established European American Funds Associates Limited and began European placement programmes for international, mainly US, private equity funds.

Phil Webb has over 20 years of international financial product sales. He has focused on hedge fund and private equity fund marketing since 2000, primarily to institutional and family offices based in Canada and in the Caribbean. He graduated from the University of New Brunswick and commenced his career as a fixed income portfolio manager based in the Caribbean before switching to fixed income sales at Orion Bank in the mid 80s as head of sales for Canada and the Caribbean. During the 1990s he worked in fixed income brokerage continuing his client development of Caribbean money managers and Canadian institutions. Phil then adjusted his product focus to offshore fund products and became the Caribbean Sales Director for Investec in 1999. Since 2002, he has operated his own fund marketing consultancy assisting a number of well known single managers of hedge and private equity funds, as well as managers of fund of funds, to access Caribbean and Canadian alternative investors.

Clive Rankin has broad international experience as a CEO across a variety of industrial sectors and is now a business angel, adviser and non-executive director to small businesses. His experience encompasses senior roles in the packaging, plastics, engineering and chemical industries. He has been based mainly in the UK with spells in Singapore and Germany, and with responsibility for businesses based in North America, Europe and Asia. Latterly he was Divisional Chairman of Laporte Fine Chemicals until its acquisition by Degussa when he became Vice President of Degussa Fine Chemicals. In October 2008 Clive was appointed the UK's nominated expert on Climate Change to the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change). He is a graduate of St. Andrews University where he obtained an Honours B.Sc. in Chemistry and a PhD for research into polymer behaviour.

Peter Thickett spent the first seven years of his career with Barclays Bank International, focusing on cross-border lending. For the past twenty-five years, he has worked in Corporate Finance/Mergers and Acquisitions, spending thirteen years with S G Warburg, where he was a Director, and three years at Wasserstein Perella, where he was a Managing Director. He subsequently headed Barclays Capital’s M&A activities and since 2002 has been active in M&A in German-speaking countries for Ermgassen and Hawkpoint. Peter has led transactions in a wide range of corporate finance transactions across most sectors (including TMT, industrial, chemicals, utilities) in the UK, Europe and Japan, and has spent many years resident in Germany and Japan for Barclays and Warburgs respectively. He has also advised numerous companies on their early-stage development as well as on IPOs and fund-raisings. Peter speaks French, German and Japanese. He has an MA from Cambridge University and an MBA from INSEAD.

Simon Ronan worked for 23 years at Flemings/JP Morgan, and prior to that at the Bank of Ireland and King & Shaxson, principally in the asset management divisions. His focus has been on sales/marketing and has experience in relation to a wide variety of investment products. He also founded the closed end funds broking team at Flemings/JP Morgan. More recently he has been involved in third party private equity and hedge fund distribution, and has a strong franchise in the UK and Irish pension fund, insurance, wealth management and family office investor communities. Simon graduated in law from Trinity College, Dublin.
